Exceptional facilities for audiovisual productions

Film Friendly status is gained as the result of a training programme organised by Finnish Lapland Film Commission during the spring 2011. It means that our personnel has knowledge of the special needs film crews may have and is willing to accommodate them as thoroughly as possible.

SantaPark and Joulukka provide functional, atmosphere-rich and highly adaptable settings for a variety of audiovisual productions, hundreds of which have already been produced at the destinations.

The SantaPark cavern covers an area of 1.3 hectares, including a variety of small and large places for implementing productions and for auxiliary functions. The cavern is not weather permitting and various props can be constructed for the premises. The cavern is equipped with lighting and sound technologies, and even a heavy goods vehicle can be driven inside.
Joulukka’s expansive private estate (35 hectares) set in the heart of the arctic forest landscape, on the shores of a lake with its fairytale-like buildings, is a unique environment for filming outdoors. Arranging e.g. huskies, reindeer and snowmobiles or large group scenes with snow structures and ice sculptures for this destination is easy. The private roads leading to Joulukka are also available for productions.

In addition to providing the premises, other services required for production are also available, such as accommodation, meeting and production spaces, catering services and vehicle hire. As an expert in exclusive lifetime experiences, we can provide you with production assistants in addition to professional performers: actors, circus artists, real elves, and of course the real Santa Claus. SantaPark and Joulukka have provided event venues for a number of children’s programmes, advertisements, interviews and television series. Our list of past guests includes e.g. BBC, Channel 4, Canal +, Rai Uno, Reuters and Story House Productions, to mention but a few.
